Dr. Holcombe repairs earlobes which have been damaged by piercings that have stretched or torn or gauges which are no longer desired. In this procedure, he removes the deformed tissue and closes that wound in a special way that minimizes the scar and maintains the contour of a natural earlobe.
This is a procedure that is performed under local anesthesia (meaning, you'll be awake) in our office. We will ask you avoid strenuous activities, including exercise, for the first week after the procedure so that your wound can heal in an optimal way. You can resume regular activities if you have had normal wound healing at your one week follow up.
If you would like your ears re-pierced after your earlobe repair, we will perform that procedure in our office at least three months after your wounds have healed. We will carefully place the new piercings away from your scar to ensure that those piercings remain in healthy, strong tissue and have the best chance of remaining intact.
